This gelding is 16.1 hands and is around 10-12 years old. Jessie and Anne really liked this horse and found him very easy to work around. At first glance I could tell you he has worked hard in his recent life, as he as scars on his knees from going down trying to start up hills with a heavy load. The write up on the horse said he was a good, safe driving horse ,worked single or double and also worked in the field.(That is a hard life as he is not a draft horse) This horse likes people (I do not know why) is very interested in everything and is WONDERFUL to work around.
As far as riding he did have a little blinker shock but worked out of it very quickly. The more Jessie rode him the better he got and I really like this horse. He is high headed had VERY good motion and looks like he could go to a show and be VERY competitive. This is a good one and with work I think could be a rare find.
START NAMING!!

Gaylord? Gainsborough? Beauregarde? Richard the Lionheart? Lancelot? Gladstone? El Cid? Honest John? Oberon? Rob Roy? Sir Percival? Tristan? Ivanhoe? Tamerlane? Tennyson? Hussar? Landseer? Isaiah? Helios? Xanthos? Buccaneer? Redwing?
Waxing poetic and exotic here with painters, literary figures, politicians, historical figures, and whatever else hits me! I loved the film Ben Hur, but I bet the ASHA registry is full of Ben Hurs, so that may not be such a good idea.

Aragon like the region of Spain or AragoRn like the king from Lord of the Rings? I like the latter ... I don't like Lancelot because, well, the LEGEND of Lancelot ain't that honorable at the end of all things. If you're looking for an epic hero ... Odysseus, Aeneas, Roland, Gilgamesh, Hercules, Beowulf.

MegNY, you are absolutely right. Lancelot was a brilliant fighter but blotted his copy book and badly by cheating on the King and stealing the heart of Queen Guinevere. The only flawless knight at King Arthur's table was Sir Galahad...only he was pure enough to go after the Holy Grail. But I always imagined Galahad to have light hair...not a redhead!
For the SBR horses, we don't want to handicap them with a negative name with negative baggage attached, no matter how well it rolls off the tongue. (I should have thougt of that before opening my yap!!!

Oh, I certainly wasn't trying to be unkind to whomever put forth the suggestion of Lancelot!! And hope very much it wasn't taken that way. I've just studied the Arthurian legend too much. Lancelot was perfect, except when he wasn't.
I pictured Galahad as light-haired, too! Heh, save that one for a flaxen horse if SBR ever gets ones.
Reading all the name ideas is fun ... we should do it like this every sale! Take a little work off of Pat and Nealia's overloaded shoulders.

Well, I didn't Study the Arthur tales, but my remembrance of the Hollywood movies is more like this discription: form Wikpedia: In the Arthurian legend, Sir Lancelot (Lancelot du Lac, also Launcelot) is one of the Knights of the Round Table. He is typically considered to be one of the greatest and most trusted of King Arthur 's knights and plays a part in many of Arthur's victories. He is perhaps most famous for his affair with Arthur's wife Guinevere and the role he plays in the search for the Holy Grail.
At any rate, no offense taken, but I hope he STEALS someone's heart soon and he gets placed quickly to a home like Camelot!
