Well no, not on purpose, but somehow in all the craziness of the summer his thread didn't get started. He came in with Joe Jonas (of course). I am not overly sure who these Jonas brothers are but am told by the girls that they are hot so I guess the name fits because Nick is a looker.
There may be pictures somewhere, I thought Pat took some but maybe not. If not we will get some up soon. In the meantime picture a very large (17 hands) Petunia and you have it.
When Nick came in he was very thin, not as thin as snickers but all his ribs were clearly visible and his hips stuck out quite a bit. He is still thin but has put on some since he arrived. This is a very handsome horse and would make an awesome horse for a TALL rider. He has a TON of motion and WTCs on cue with a very cute head set. He is kind and willing but somewhat mistrustful of people, although he is vastly better in this regard already. Although he is a fun ride ( big lofty step) we have had some logistical problems getting a saddle to stay on him, he was so thin and narrow with a huge stride and it kept sliding back. Consequently we have been working mostly on ground work with him while he packs on some pounds. I am planning on trying to rig up a breast collar for him and see if that works. Once he has some belly fat I am sure the problem will be solved.
Nick is under 10 years old and is pretty and talented enough to show.

Anne B. I think you have to be 12 or under to see the hotness in these prepubescent scrawny boys!! Now I'm sure us old ladies will find the horse more attractive than the boys.

If you want to appeal to the more mature crown rename him Daniel Craig and I'll be down tomorrow to pick him up!!!!

The girls had their way with the names on this last group of "boys". We named some for the more mature set a while ago ( Robert Redford, Harrison Ford, Rhett Butler etc). A little something for all the ladies. Then of course there were Mr. Right and Mr. Wonderful which should appeal to everyone! Will have to name one Daniel Craig in the future! Of course you can always adopt this boy and rename him

Do you think Nick would make a good saddleseat practice horse?
If he has Petunia's flashy whites I bet he is handsome!! I can handle fear issues (I'm a rehabber of former PMU horses) Is he relatively uncomplicated under saddle?

Now as to the more mature crowd comment....Robert Redford is 73, Harrison Ford is 67 and Rhett Butler well he's dead. How old do you think I am? Kind of depressing to hear their ages, huh?!

Nick is indeed flashy. He would make an excellent saddle seat practice horse for an experienced rider willing to go slow and easy with him. He is kind but fearful. Acts like he has been treated roughly at some point.

I wouldn't hazzard a guess , but then classic like H. Ford or P. Neuman.... well they are called "classic" for a very good reason.

Smile, it will make people wonder what been up to!

As a 35 yr old woman who has Harrison Ford in her pasture, I will indeed say that some are called classic for a very very good reason! He puts a smile on my face every day.

Looking forward to seeing pictures of Nick!

Ok somebody clue me in, Who is Daniel Craig. And when I read about Joe Jonus, I thought he was named after one of the Amish owners who has a lot of registered ASBs since there seems to be a lot of Jonuses in the ASHA registry. LOL

Daniel Craig is the lastest James Bond. My life forever changed when he came out of the surf in that bathing suit in Casino Royale.

Nick was turned loose in the arena so he could run around today. He is a high stepping, handsome guy. He seemed to like people admire him (there were 3 of us watching him), so he really put on a show. He really took my breath away. I can't wait to see someone riding him!

Nick really did put on a show for us today, he is so much fun to watch, all Saddlebred! He is not turned out with the herd because he was very difficult to catch when he first came. He has been getting the "living in a stall and getting daily workouts like a show horse" lifestyle to maximize his human contact and build his trust in people. It seems to be working, after his playtime he came right up to me when I called him. I was so proud of him!

Wow, he is fancy! I don't see a breast collar on him so his weight gain must be helping. I love the last picture of him. It looks like he will make someone a really nice horse.

Yowza! The pictures were worth waiting for. He will be absolutely gorgeous when he is up to optimal weight, but I am in awe that is trying so hard to show off even as thin as he is now.
