Just a quick update on Mikey. He is doing fabulously well! I really like him more and more each day. He has been gaining weight and helping out with camps all summer. It has been exactly 2 months since SBR got him from the auction and I can't believe what a transformation he has already made. He is looking tons better and is so happy!
Last week I decided it was time to try riding him, so I rode him three times last week. He was really good, I even took him on a little trail ride around the property and he was unfazed. So... this week I had another camp starting and we used him for leading and groundwork on Monday, for which he is really good. Then I decided to try a camper on him just to see how he would be. He was fantastic, even in the group ride with the other lesson horses. We used him in camp all week and he was a star, he even went through the sprinkler!
Now that camps are over for the summer, I am going to spend some more time on his training, I really think he has some potential and will do some dressage training with him. His personality is the best and I can't wait to work with him more!!
He is also coming out of his shell and becoming quite a character, here he is rummaging through someone's lunch cooler they had left on the bench by his stall:

Wonderful updates about a very versatile Saddlebred. Keep them coming, I bet he found some carrot sticks in that lunch pail.
I love his form/frame.
