On June 23 my Mom Margaret Kelly passed away. She is the person who introduced me to this wonderful breed. She was 90 and had had a stroke. In her younger years she took lessons from Chet Bonham when he has a barn in Indy. Her dream was always for me to ride and show a walk trot ASB. She loved seeing Issac and watching Paige and I ride. She wanted to see me get a horse from SBR and show the locals what an English Pleasure horse looks like. She was the perfect horse show mom. getting me ready and letting me alone with my horse to get my nerves under control. I know she will be watching when I get my new horse and cheering me on.

My deepest condolences on the loss of your Mom. Be prepared to have a passenger when you return to the show ring...you know she will be riding right behind you! A Mother's love and support never ends.
God bless and take care, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Kay

I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your Mom. What a grand lady. She will always be with you in your heart and I'm sure when you least expect it you will catch a glimpse of her on the rail.

If you don't learn something new everyday, you're just not paying attention and if you already know it all, you have alot to learn.

I am so sorry for you and I cannot imagine your grief. That is the down side of getting older, losing those you love.

It is never easy losing your mom, no matter their age. My condolences, I know how much I miss my mom who has been gone since 1990 and feel for you.

Thank you everyone for your posts. It is hard, but we will do our best to go forward. I feel her when I hold my new grandaughter. She got to hold and know Kaylie and for that I am so grateful. I know when I can show again, She will be there and oversee my suit and cheer me on. Again thank you.

Shamrock, I know how you are feeling, I lost my mom in November, it is still raw for me. My mom was my rock also, she was the one who suggested I try riding hunt seat. I tried it and fell in love. She understood a horse crazy girl. She will be with you no matter what. Those are memories of her that can never be taken away.

I never give them hell, I just tell the truth and they think it's hell.

Dear Shamrock, I am so very sorry for the loss of your dear Mom. I too have lost my Mother in October of 2008. I miss her still. We shared a love of horses and she was never too busy to drive me to riding lessons as a teenager. Take care of yourself as best you can, find strength from loved ones, and know her love is a part of who you are.
